Best Websites to find Tutoring Resources

Administration / 13 Aug, 2023

Good resources are integral for a good tutoring session. Below there should be resources for most subjects. So then, what are the best websites to find tutoring resources?

Science

Good places to get past paper questions are physics and math tutor. As well as having past paper questions they also have mind maps and flashcards which can be useful in the tutoring sessions. They have GCSE and A-level revision and all different exam boards, and they split the sciences up into different subjects. These exam style questions are very similar to the A-level and GCSES the students will be sitting.

In terms of content, the CGP books are great. They are laid out neatly and also have a few practice questions at the bottom of the page which is great to test the students on. The books also provide the perfect amount of detail for tutoring and are reasonably priced. They also have workbooks which yet again provide good past paper questions on specific topics.

In terms of websites, BBC bitesize is always a staple. Seneca is also a really good online platform so would recommend checking that out. In terms of resources to recommend to students, these are a few YouTube channels I always like to recommend. These include free science lessons, and science and math’s with primrose kitten for all sciences, machemguy and alleriechemistry for chemistry revision.

Maths

Physics and maths tutor also has resources that would be useful for maths. In addition to this, math genie, Corbett maths and revision maths are also great resources. In terms of YouTube channels, a good channel to advise students to watch is the GCSE math’s tutor as well as science and maths with primrose kitten. This could also be good inspiration for planning lessons. As for all other subjects, the CGP study guides are also an excellent resource and the one I would argue I use the most often.

English

A good YouTube channel to recommend to students is Mr. Bruff. He makes quick and easy songs which have the key quotes that you could introduce to students. He is also very interactive. Past papers are also really helpful, which can be found on the exam boards web page. On the exam board web site, you can also find examples of grade 9 and grade 3,4,5 and 6 essays which is helpful to see what the exam board wants. CGP study guides are always very helpful as well as example essays which can be found online.

History

Oversimplified is a good YouTube channel if you want to recap some key points before tutoring. In addition to this, Seneca learning is a very good platform which is free and interactive. The Bicester school has good revision guides and revision notes. BBC bitesize is always great for key information and some short quiz style questions. On the exam board web page, you can also find examples of grade 9 and grade 3,4,5 essays which is helpful to see what the exam board wants.

General

I think a good way to consolidate what a student has learnt the lesson before is by doing quick recaps, tutoring worksheets and quizzes. Kahoot is a good platform for this and is also interactive. That’s it for my ‘best websites to find tutoring resources’ – did I miss any?
