GCSE Maths
Thomas Axcell - GCSE Maths Tutor
First a bit about myself, I am a medical student at the University of Liverpool who is currently studying for a master’s degree in Acute Critical and Emergency Medicine. At GCSE I achieved a grade 9 in maths, biology, chemistry and physics and at A level I achieved a grade A in biology and chemistry and an A* in maths. Since school, I have gained experience tutoring maths, chemistry and biology as well as tutoring 1st and 2nd year medical students.
Regarding my approach to teaching, I like to be flexible as I believe students respond very differently to different approaches. However, I like to focus on 3 main evidence-based themes, spaced repetition, active recall, and exam technique.
Teaching is a key theme of medicine and from this, I have found pleasure in distilling the exam and revision tips that I have picked up during my education. I love the subjects I teach and I hope to pass on my enthusiasm for these subjects to as many students as possible.
