About Alice Garcia Kalmus

Hello, 

I'm Alice, a second year Sociology and Social Anthropology student at Cambridge. I always really enjoyed English, writing, and other humanities subjects growing up, having studied English up to A Level, and achieving a 9 in English Lit and English Language GCSE, and an A in English Lit A Level. I have a year and a half of tutoring experience, from teaching a 5 year old who has English as a second language, helping with phonics and basic literacy, up to a 16 year old doing his GCSEs and a range of other tutees. I am a friendly and empathetic tutor, and I'm good at adapting to the needs of students working at different levels and with different personality types - every student is different so each lesson style will be different depending on what they require. I always show up to lessons prepared and am willing to set as much or as little homework as you desire as the parent/appropriate to the student's needs. I'm happy to teach English, either Lit or Lang, at any stage up to A Level, and would be willing to familiarise myself with exam board specifications/specific exam layouts as appropriate to what you're looking for.
