About Neve Pullan
Hi!
I am currently a third year English Literature and Philosophy Student at the University of Exeter. I have a passion for Education in general, and love all subjects. However, my passion and expertise is with all levels of English (both language and literature), KS2 and KS3 Maths, any level of Religious Studies (or religious education). Throughout my time during A-levels, and my first and second years of University I have been a tutor and a student mentor! I have done work experience in both primary and secondary schools in preparation for my masters course in Education beginning in September as I train to be an English Secondary School teacher. The students I have worked with have been a wide variety of abilities, but they have all individually benefited from the lessons they have had with me, focusing on boosting their confidence in order to help them engage with content and feel able to approach difficult topics.
Outside of tutoring I enjoy reading, training for taekwondo and writing children's novels!

My Teaching Approach
I have a fun, but informative teaching approach! I enjoy helping students realise their full potential and building up their confidence. With English lessons, I believe it is fundamental to teach creatively, creating memorable ways to remember quotes from texts. Equally, I help students learn all the techniques needed for their exams, while reminding them of the fun that can be found in writing creatively for their Language papers. Both for Maths and English: practice is key! I get students to practice questions every lesson. With my English GCSE students currently, we prepare for their exams by planning an essay at the start of every lesson!
